Although with a lower proportion of pores, concrete is also subject to weathering, salt action, freezing, chloride diffusion and other harmful effects that can cause reinforcement corrosion and concrete deterioration, thus reducing the durability and usability of the entire structure.

In order to protect such structures, silane-based products such as DRACO SHIELD 150 are used, which is a high-quality hydrophobic impregnation for the protection of concrete structures such as bridges, viaducts, stadiums, buildings and elements made of natural concrete. The product aims to penetrate the substrate more than 10 mm and thus create a hydrophobic surface without changing the external appearance.

The surface treated with DRACO SHIELD 150 will have a significant reduction in water and chloride absorption while retaining the original vapor permeability thus extending durability and improved resistance due to the freeze and thaw cycles. The coating is applied to a clean and dry surface. It penetrates deep into the concrete, thus preventing the deterioration of the material and the penetration of water. UV is resistant, long-lasting, vapor-permeable and does not change the appearance of treated surfaces.

The basic protection of concrete is its hydrophobization, ie limiting water absorption. For aesthetic and practical reasons, painting concrete has become inevitable today. Interior and exterior concrete surfaces can certainly be beautified and remove the dull concrete gray. Painting concrete is not complicated, it is only important that all the rules are followed. Concrete paints are resistant to water and external weathering, which is why they are popular among contractors!

Before choosing a paint for concrete, the most important thing is to prepare the surface well.

These are just some of the situations that can happen to you if you are not well informed:

We most often use DRACO FLOOR 860 as a concrete paint, a two-component epoxy thin-layer coating based on water with low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The product is used to protect floors and other concrete surfaces.

It is very easy to apply, the finished floor is easy to maintain, it is vapor permeable and mechanically very resistant.

The following is required for proper use:

• first mix component A well with a low speed electric mixer,
• then add component b to the container with component A and mix until a homogeneous mixture,
• pay attention to the walls and bottom of the bowl so that this part is well mixed,
• for application of the product as a protective layer, dilute it with water up to a maximum of 10% and apply evenly with a short-haired or sponge roller.

Since it is water-based, the product can be applied as early as 7 days after the installation of concrete or screed. Apply DRACO® PRIMO 850 primer to the surface. Wait until the primer has set (minimum 12 hours) before applying DRACO® FLOOR 860.

DRACO® FLOOR 860 diluted with water can serve as a primer. Depending on the absorption of the substrate and the application conditions, dilute it up to 20%.
